Laying the intragastric balloon

The pose usually lasts 20 to 30 min, it is done under general anesthesia by introducing the uninflated balloon into your stomach through mouth. This balloon is then filled with 400 to 700 ml of physiological saline tinted with methylene blue. This allows you to quickly detect any leak in the balloon when you notice that your urine is colored blue or green.

The placement of the intragastric balloon is preceded by an endoscopic examination which will verify the absence of ulcer or hiatal hernia important.
